the 9.30pm news to day featured a article on animal abuse that happens in the circus of china
videos of trainer whipping ,slapping, and punching defenseless animals was shown on the news

A clip of a man teaching a bear to skip was shown whipping the poor bear with the skipping rope when ever the bear did not jump.... he even went to the extend of punching the bear in the face and chest
The poor poor bear was seen trying to move away in pain whenever he abused it.... all the while the bear had its mouth shut down with a rope and standing on its hind legs..... other clips show other trainer punching another bear continuously while the bear was walking on its front leg while the back legs were in the air
the news also explained that elephants were pierced with metal hooks and loins and tigers had their teeth pulled out and had bad infections from them that were not even treated properly

even the living environments sucked as they were put in small tiny cages that had no space for them to even move in and were not feed food and water on a regular basis

sorry if this offends any one.... but wats wrong with these china ppl.... firstly they eat any thing that even crawls and then comes the fur trade that see the animals ripped of their fur when they are alive and thrown in to a pile of similarly suffering animals to suffer in pain and die a slow death.... dozens of dogs stuffed in a tiny cage and thrown around like some kinda cargo... resulting in the dogs breaking their legs and limbs
wat did the animals ever do to them ..... if i had a choice to leave my job now to save animals i would do it in a drop of a hat..... i would put them through ever torture they inflicted on the animals and see how they like it

again sorry if i had offended any one with this post ..... i have nothing against china or its ppl.... only those that still live in their primitive mind set and go on abusing animals ...... if there is any chinese national that is reading this please don't be one of these people

animals are living creatures as well they feel pain like any of us .... imagine anyone put you in the animals position and tortured you .... would you like it?.......

come on softies if there is anyone who has any idea how we could help to free these circus animals share it with the soft community .... i'm sure there is many kind hearted animal loving softies that would like to know as well

again i'm sorry if i had offended any one ..... i'm just a guy who can't bear to see animals suffer

I'm with you bro. I'm an animal lover too, even I flinch when I watch Animal Planet and see elephants being pushed by its own kind.

I too have the same mindset as you, "if i had a choice to leave my job now to save animals i would do it in a drop of a hat".

Reading what you wrote here has already made me tear. I can't imagine if I did watch the news and saw it for myself. However, I did saw how they stripped off the fur off live animals. That made me sick, quesy and utterly mad.

I'm with you on this.

hey sicbarney

at least i noe that i'm not the only one who is moved to tears when i see animal abuse .......
i finally made a move today to join ACRES as a volunteer .... i really wish to do my part in this cruel world of man
this is the video i was talking about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6Ec5wUUts8
cheers bro .... really appreciate this

Animal abuse occurs all over the world. It just happens much more often in China. I don't know why. Is it the culture there that is more selfish or something?

in my point of view its all abt the MONEY MONEY MONEY.....
fur trade =money
circus = money
dog meat =money

as you said the culture there is selfish and all abt the greens
i noe this for a fact cos i work wit tones of china customers from a daily basis
and you should see their love for money...... as if they would do anything to earn even the slightest bit
as the saying goes ,WHEN THE BUYING STOPS SO WILL THE KILLING

Actually, animal cruelty in Europe is pretty darn serious too, especially the fox-hunting thing. I find it extremely cruel to the fox. But the upper class in Britain are defending the practice while the animal lovers are protesting. And of course, how the Japanese kill whales, really cruel too.

And to add to that, the Chinese have a really horrible way to extract bear bile. From living bears! Read up about it on google. I felt really sick when I read about it. I'm really ashamed of my ancestral race. I really wish karma was real.

*Generally I'd still rate the mainland Chinese as the most cruel. Add to that all the troubles with 'short-cuts' leading to poisons in their food products and all that.

If you find the treatment in circuses in China disturbing, read up about the bear bile extraction. Also in China. Very, very cruel and it really makes me ashamed of my race. Seriously. I really wish karma was real.

I'm quite aware of the animal cruelty in the European region. Especially the whale hunting in... erm... can't remember. But they make it a yearly sport, and each year, the beaches and seas are all red from the blood. *sigh*

Bear bile extraction? These 3 words are haunting enough, I wouldn't wanna know the process of how it's done.

I used to, and will continue to stand by my notion: Nuke China and the whole world will start being better. Just nuke it, please.

nuking a country will never be a solution to anythings.......wat we really need is for the governments to step in and track down animal abuse in their own countries...... in europe the government try to do it but i guess the profits coming from the abuse is even more attractive to them then the cost involved in tracking down the abuse

china is the worse when it comes to the governments stand on animal abuse..... very very minimum is done by the chinese government to even come up with laws to stop the abuses or even to lay down laws to produce a better environments to animals

The americans in the other hand is the only government that i know of that has laws and regulations on who and how a animal should be treated and punishes those that are caught abusing animals
the irony of it

The Chinese government should technically be able to do at least something, but it's such a big country. Which presents some complications.

- The government is comprised of both officials who are against animal cruelty, and officials who welcome the profits and want it to continue.*

- The country is so big, that many of these cases of animal cruelty aren't even known to the government. So even if the government becomes completely against animal cruelty, enforcing it is very difficult in China because people will continue to do it until they're found out, which might not happen at all.

- There will always be people who will do illegal and even dangerous things for profit. Especially in China where profit is number one on most of the population's agenda. Look at the Sanlu poisoning. It was intentional.

*These are what I've read somewhere else.. not sure if it is true, but it sure is logical. There are actually government officials in China who are trying to stop animal cruelty, but it isn't helping because they aren't getting the support they need.
