darkening the guitar finish

ive got a vintage g400 in cherry red, and god forbid mines of a pale orangy colour in bright light.

is there anyway i can get the SATIN finish stain to get closer to a wine red kinda thing?

to

if its going to involve stripping paint, ive got other fun plans for it then.
