R Revolutions New member Jul 6, 2004 #2 try doing a normal drumroll, and gradually exert lesser force, on your ride or crash cymbal. cymbal rolls don't work on hi-hats i think? i'm not sure about this cause i'm a guitarist but i've seen my drummer do cymbal rolls, and he does it good.

O offy1 New member Jul 6, 2004 #3 sorri.. i mean synthesising the sound on keyboard.. cant get the smooth sound of a roll... seem to always have gaps no matter how hard i try..

C CubaLibre New member Jul 7, 2004 #4 you're going to have some problems with that, mate. :? unless your keyboard synthesizer has the ability to alter the attack of each note, you're not going to be able to get a smooth cymbal roll.

soft Administrator Staff member Jul 7, 2004 #5 can try hit 2 keys that have similar cymbal sound. dont hit too hard, use Event Controller to do the crescendo for the volume. adding some reverb to it wouldn't hurt too. :wink:
