ok, nonsense here, read this for fun. Feel free to make more radical comments... and critics too...

if, if, if only, if, if i have the money:

i'll buy this (RG7321):
http://soft.com.sg/web/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=37377

and this (RG321):
http://soft.com.sg/web/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=36421

(btw, great prices, very very good bargains, grab them!)

Then, remove the lower part of the 7321, remove the higher part of the 321, glue, shaft, whatever to join the bodies, compensate the difference in body thickness at the back of the bodies, to give a leveled front. Re-route the electronics for the 7321. Re-spray the body with a unique color. And there, we'll have a double-neck RG7321.321. 7-string neck at the top, 6-string neck at the bottom.

Can some graphics experts give us some visualisation.

Yep, the EX reverse headstock gives a nice mirror effect.

Here are some I googled:

Obviously, the makers already thought of such 7-6 combo.

And of course:
Ibanez.Doubleneck.jpg

Quoted from Paul:
"My Ibanez PGM doubleneck. This was made at the last minute before a Mr. Big tour in the 90's. I found out that Billy Sheehan was bringing a doubleneck bass, so I wanted a doubleneck guitar to balance our look onstage. I needed the guitar to be made really quickly, so Ibanez just took two RG model guitars, cut them up, glued them together, and painted the whole thing white. The necks are just two normal 6 strings. I eventually decided to use the bottom neck as a "3 string" and I tuned the three strings in low, mid, and high octaves, allowing me to play some wild arpeggio licks that would be impossibe with a normal tuning."

A lot more other to enjoy:
