custom acoustic

hi to all, went down to try custom acoustic guitars that day and i felt that it was not bad. does anyone owns a custom acoustic here? how is it?

Although i agree with your assessment of 'not bad', could you enlighten us as to exactly why you arrived at this conclusion? Like maybe you felt the woods were good, you liked the full tone of 1 of the guitars, you felt the fit and finish were top notch, etc. And if you're looking for an acoustic guitar, perhaps you could state what sound you're looking for, budget and preferred body shape (if any), and we'd be more than happy to help!

I tried many guitars and custom acoustic resonates really well. But I'm not comparing it with high end ones like Martin or Taylor.. I'm talking abt budget below 1k. I tried maestro too but prefer custom acoustic. I'm looking for one that has a warm and mellow sound especially the bass. Shape would be dreadnought. Any recommendations? Custom acoustic is not bad but I just wanna know who has one and how is it so far. The one I like is fg62 I think. Cos it's a relatively new local brand so I'm just looking for more feedbacks. Thanks!

Haha actually it isn't that new, been around for about 5-7 years or so? Yeah the FG62 is nice, but i feel that it doesn't sound as full as it should given the woods used. The piece i tried abt 2 months back also didn't resonate well, could be just that piece or you tried a good one. You can try the Takamine EGS330SC, fro Luthermusic. http://www.luthermusic.com/category/guitars_acoustic-e/takamine-egs-330sc

I believe its the same piece i tried also abt 2 months back, and it sounds really nice and mellow, thanks to its solid cedar top. The price is higher than that of the CAs, but i feel the increase is worth it.

Your budget's under 1 grand? That opens up a lot more options.
How bout Walden? Engelmann Spruce tops on some of their guitars, it sounds somewhere in between spruce and cedar, might be the tone you're looking for?

What I feel about Custom Acoustic that it is a good kick start for your guitar journey, but after you have become a seasoned player, you will definitely want something more.

Try Seagull guitars also?

bought the parkwood pw310m from swee lee and it was chipped.. a small chip. went through much effort to look for another piece but they only have one left in katong swee lee. the one wasnt perfect also. in the end i settled with the chipped one. sian..

If you're so fussy about the chip, IMHO you should've waited or bought online. Or you should've gone to Luthermusic, they still have 1 more PW310 there if i'm not wrong and last i saw it was in perfect condition.
