Cubase help needed!

Hey guys, first off I'll give you the low down on my specs

I'm currently running a Cubase AI 4 ver 4.5.2(the latest) on a laptop to a usb mixer, the yamaha mw12xc. Vista OS

Problem:
Well I JUST got my laptop and I just installed the cubase on it. I've been using the setup on my old desktop but since I wanted to go portable I figure I'd get a laptop.

The cubase installed perfectly BUT when I went on to set the deivce setup it couldn't read my USB mixer. On my hardware settings it states that the device is working fine. However in the cubase settings I just can't seem to turn it on. I CAN detect it in cubase, but I just can't set it to be my input/output. By default they're my speakers.

Could it be cos of the vista?

Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

You're not alone!! It has nothing to do with Vista, as it didnt work on WinXP OS either. Cubase AI 4 ver 4.5.2 is not compatible with DirectKS Driver V1.0.2. The only version that will works perfectly is USB Audio Driver V1.0.1.

If u noticed the dates of DirectKS Driver V1.0.2 is on the "Dec/27/2006" and USB Audio Driver V1.0.1 is dated on "Jan/19/2009." Which means USB Audio Driver V1.0.1 is the latest update. I got confused with why V1.0.2 is not the latest until I saw the date..that totally cleared up my doubt. Anyway, I own a MW8CX instead.. but I think it's the same as your MW12CX. The compression knob(CX) is superb huh?
