Hi!
One of the tricks I believe is to exert air downwards at your diaphragm. That is literally to flex your lower abdominals..but not too hard or u might find urself crapping in your pants.
Another thing you need to do is to blow air lightly out of your mouth as you intonate..this would create a natural huskiness.. It comes naturally for some..but i've seen some ppl practice till they could do it naturally too..
Also, note that the air draft should come from the throat to the lower side of ur mouth..Hope u understand that..

haha..concentrating this air draft will give u a more realistic husky tone..compared to jus literally blowing air out..
Lastly, its also at lower ranges easier to produce the husky tone by singing without opening ur mouth too big

but that also means u sacrifice ur diction a little bit..

but hey..with practice..you could still do it!
