correct way to press frets?

sorry, need to ask nooby question. what is the correct way to press on the frets? on it? beside? middle? books show different places, internet sometimes different opinion. thought it was obvious till now!

is the answer the same for bass guitar playing also?

to answer your question, a light touch is more advisable.

haha. uzzo88, it's ok. still part of thread. it's also how to press when shredding fast! only difference is you can shred and i don't even know where to press yet! :lol:

press nearer to the fret... my teacher last time told me..press nearer to the fret will sound nicer and clearer.. if u press too behind.. it will sound buzzzzzzzzzz
