Computer speakers

Anyone here uses Altec Lansing 5.1 speakers? Mine just crapped out on me.. and its the 2nd unit that has crapped on me.. i had 2 units of the same brand and both stopped working after 2 yrs of use (starting to feel that altec lansing has no quality control in their products at all)..

Anyone has any similar experiences with the brand? And oh yea.. wat are good speaker brands to get besides crapola altec?

I'm using a set of Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers for 7 years and it's still working fine... perhaps the older models have better QC...

I've never liked Altec Lansing... though I'm using one...
I feel that Creative sounds are good. Not all...
So far I've I know Inspire is good. Not the GD or P T whatever...
Just the 2.1,4.1,5.1... Giga and Mega haven't tried.

Or... opposite Funan Center Building... They sell some weird test-tube like things that looks obiang... But the sound are kinda amazing actually. It's like so damm clear lor... But well... it looks like alien space ship...

just go for clear speakers with good response... i hooked up a junked old Hi-Fi to my computer and they give awesome sound! c'mon, it's a HiFi lol. My sound card is integrated but i dont hear the difference right now cuz of the speakers. hoping to upgrade to some external powerful shit soon.

i've used altec lansing for 5 years and there's ntg wrong with it so far... except that sometimes one speaker doesnt work.. but most of the time it's working just fine...

altec lansing older speakers produce really gd sounds... but i heard the recent model myself... true enough alot of it sounds up to standard....

My ATP3 is still running strong after 4 years.

My ADA 885 is still running strong after 3 years.

My logitech 700 dollar gaming speakers mati liao. Haven't sent for repair.

So my experience of Altec is a positive one.

If you really want a Klipsch, get the Promedia. They sound better than the GMX series.

i'm using creative megaworks 5.1... not bad the sound quality... but can't say its the best... depends on sound source also... coupled with my Xi-Fi fatality its quite a good combo...

but my Xi-Fi has been fried by my amp's output... so argh... using mobo's inbult sound now... sounds crappy compared to xi-fi... but the megaworks still makes it sound good
