Computer Musician Duo

I was wondering what I would need to get some house music going as a duo, something along the lines of Daft Punk. I was thinking maybe a Micro X, hooked up to a MacBook, and maybe a PadKontrol for triggering samples, and an MIDI control surface with knobs, not so hardcore like the Behringer one.

Any advice? Please go crazy (within a budget range of $500 to $2000 not including the MacBook)
