Classical Piano Lessons for all levels & ages.
I am a lady piano teacher with more than 20 years of experience. My teacher’s qualifications are from Trinity (LTCL) & Guildhall (LGSM) and I have a Bachelor’s degree in Preschool Education (Edith Cowan University). I have taught in various music schools and am currently in charge of music and aesthetic programs in a preschool. I also teach classical piano from my home studio.
BEGINNERS (Young & Old)
Has your child graduated from his/her little tot’s music programme and is now looking to move on to formal classical music education? Or perhaps you are looking for your child’s (or your own) first piano teacher. My lessons are conducted in a warm and friendly atmosphere and parents are welcome to sit in. Learn classical music through a fun and holistic approach. Lessons are more than just playing songs on the keyboard. Through engaging and fun activities, students develop:• Rhythm sense• Pitch awareness• Listening skills• Correct finger technique for a good foundation (very vital to future music education)• Music appreciation (orchestral instruments & composers)• Creative expression (basic composing)• Music literacy (theory)
INTERMEDIATE & ADVANDED STUDENTS
I have seen students through all grades (ABRSM). Attaining grades through exams is a goal but definitely not the only one. I do not put students through a diet of exam material alone. I make it a point to expose students to a wide repertoire of music, including enjoyable works like duets and contemporary music. While enjoying lessons is important, I have also consistently upheld a high standard in exam performance (merit or distinction) through meticulous attention to:• Ear training, Sight singing/reading• Music appreciation• Music history• Expressive / stylistic playing • Technical skills
