classical guitar help

hey fellow softies!
can i use a classical guitar to play alternative songs??
would it be weird?
i got an acoustic guitar but the reason why i wanna use classical guitar is that it has broader neck.i find it easy to hold the chords with a broader neck.
what would be the cons if i were to use a classical guitar for that type of music??

I think the sound that the guitar produce will be more mellow hence it wont be as bright as the acoustic. Other then that i think it is ok to use your classical.

can why not? strumming power chords don't sound mean when boosted with distortion though. however for doing funky chords, it sounds real good.

reason why i find it weird is that ppl use classical guitar to play fingerstyle/spanish songs...
i wanna play those sing-a-long songs.XD

classical guitar too dark/mellow to have nice crisp strumming sound. you need a proper steel string acoustic.
