hey guys, im kinda noob, but how do we enfix them onto the bass? screw or wad? anyone has pics of the process of installing it?

I'm kinda confused, are you talking about pickup covers, like the arches that go over the pickups of Fender and Rickenbacker basses, or are you referring to those chrome ones that are on the humbuckers of Les Paul guitars?

Do you have any pictures of them?

Well, they're affixed to body by screws, one on each side of the pickup (Fenders, don't know about Rics).

My '74 Jazz Bass was made with the pickup covers on, so there already are holes in the pickguard and body to screw them into. Same went for the thumbrest and bridge cover.

I suppose if you want to attach pickup covers on a bass that didn't originally have them, you'll have to do some careful drilling. If not, installation should be a pretty straightforward affair.

issac arh. then how to know which pick-guard is for which body ? ibanez uses which shape of pickup or maybe a warwick uses another kind of pick-guard ? hmmm... im interested~ wahaha. my bass might look cooler huh.

The chrome cover over my ric 4003 is fixed to a spring that helps with the pickup height adjustment. can't be removed without gg through the trouble of resetting the spring mechanism.

And yeah, my Fender J also has screws in the pick guard though the chrome covers for that one are long lost.

I suppose you'll have to see the shape lor....I know for a fact that there are pickguards made for certain basses, and you get get them at various places, either in Singapore or online. Thing is, these are for basses that are usually made with pickguards.

There are some basses, like Ibanez Soundgears and Warwicks, that aren't made with pickguards, so finding an aftermarket one to fit won't be such a straight affair. If you're really hard up to get hold of a pickguard for your bass, you'd have to get one customised for it.

Hope that helps! :)
