well, try cheap condenser lapel mics powered by small watch batteries..which you can buy from any local electronic stores...or build one from scratch using EM-60 or FET mics...

Use a condenser or ribbon vs standard dynamic.

Cheap but good overhead condensers are the AKG1000's, RODE NT5's and NT4's
