Just wondering, has anybody in Singapore ever bought a Chapman Guitar ML1 or ML2 or Ghostfret before?

Rob Chappers is a guitarist from Wiltshire UK, he has is the front man/guitarist for UK rock band Monkey Lord, and has three solo EP's available on iTunes. Rob has worked on session projects for EMI and Universal records with artists such as Yngwie Malmsteen.

Recently Rob was asked by Marshall Amps to act as liaison on the King Kong project to build the peoples amp, more on this exciting project soon.

If I remember correctly the cost of a stock ML-1 is about 200 pounds. That should add up to bout SGD 700 shipped here, unless you gotta pay some extra british tax. Floyd rose and sustainer installation should about double the price.

Saw a demo of the ML-1 with a sustainer, pretty cool stuff.

the ML2 sounds badass.. really watch the vids and youll see the stock pickups scream no need for replacements!!!.. i wish we can have them in singapore..

if anyones still interested, i got one of the lost ml-1 in the states 350pounds shipped. awesome guitar to begin with. didint like the neck profile on it though, seeing as im more of a baseball bat kind of guy and this neck was something youd find on an ltd ec-100. went out and got an allparts fender deep-v neck, threw on a kahler hybrid series bridge on it, threw on a black pickguard and single humbucker from hell in the bridge wiht a sustainer up front and now it works miles better than any superstrat ive tried. construction on this thing was incredibly good for the price. plus you always get the monkey lord guarantee so if youre still looking at buying one go ahead.

If you've been following the legacy of Chappers and the Chapman Guitars, You would've known that the ML1 and ML2 has been give a new lease of life. Factory been shifted to Korea, to World Music Suppliers, The ones who make PRS and ESPs and such....

I've been dying to get hold of the reissued ML1 in Trans-Black!!!!!
But It's gonna cost Singaporeans at least S$800++ to ship one over from Andertons.co.uk

I've emailed them and the break down of the cost was £307.50 for the Guitar and £95 for Shipping....
and god know how much GST and whatever weird cost this Government has in place for us to pay for.....

I want it so badly but I have no money now..... (Rant of a poor man)

Just to let people know of the cost of bringing an ML1 Reissued MIK to Singapore!!!!!

If you have any relatives in the UK get them to ship it over to you. like replace the packaging so it doesnt get taxed as a new item. then no customs duty to pay. so youll pretty much get it 310 pounds plus the shipping.

Latest development:

Chapman Guitars are sourcing for other distributors overseas.

They are trying for Sweetwater for the USA Markets.

and trying for BMusic for Australia <----Wonder if this is a more viable option for Singaporean enthusiast!

Honestly speaking all these caplang (oops !! chapman) guitars are made in PRC factory in Shanxi...

not worth buying... invest on a fender or gibson

Chapman Guitars are manufactured in Korea, that factual error aside plenty of great guitars have come out of Chinese factories. Have you played one personally? I'd like to hear greater detail if you indeed have.
