hey peeps,if lets say i change my guitar strings from 0.9s to 10s...does it affect e tone? and will it change e sound?

do you have to reset up your guitar after you change string gauge?
i mean the tension and the intonation everything will be kinda messed up right?

yes that is right. you have to intonate your guitar once again. otherwise, you might be left with a floating bridge and you wouldnt know why

haha okay. noob question, what's a floating bridge? and is it possible to self intonate your guitar? i've heard of people doing it themself before.

that means the bridge would by floating when it shouldnt. it is possible to intonate your own guitar. if you are not sure you can send it to a tech. however if you want to try....

right click and save as here

yeah, theres a difference in tone.

.10s are mostly for playing heavier stuff and drop tunings.

If you ask me, .10s are too light. Try .12s sometime.. Sweet, full tone right there..

wow 8O .12 how to bend sia?
You gotta work up to it. I didn't switch from .09s to .12s overnight. Started with .10s, then tried going up to .11s.. I liked the sound of the heavier strings so I stuck with .11s (most of my guitars are still on .11s).. Now on .12s on some of my Strats (though I think I should have started with one of my shorter scale guitars instead :( )

i do this to all my guitars. it's user-friendly with the proper instructions/ tools. sure beats paying someone else to do it for me... 8)
