Hey guys, i need some help in sourcing for places to change my pups. can let me noe e person and place as well as cost?

also, is it like better to change just e bridge and not e neck supposing i have a HH pickup configuration? or is it better to change both at e same time?

if so, any good neck pups tt i can buy? my bridge has quite alot of output already. maybe sth tt is suitable for blues.. thanks.

i recently changed my humbuckers to seymour duncans SH 1 (neck) and SH 4 (bridge). SH 1 is very clean and crisp, almost sounds like a single coil. SH 4 is fat. makes heavy distortion sound good. together they cover everything. got them from davis.

lamity, the Duncan JB is not a fat sounding pup.
its quite bright with a high-mid spike.

anyway chrisissac, wat guitar are u using? depending on type of wood, value of pots, value of ur capacitor, etc the tone from a pickup can vary alot.

gimme more details to work with here.

the JB has a lower midrange spike, it doesn't sound stellar in all guitars.

as mentioned in GEAR NEWS (domestic)- if you are keen on the matched pair Duncans, they are in stock @ Davis going for a very good price.

i'm using a double fat strat squier. standard series. i have a seymour duncan sh-8 bridge. i will change as soon as my midyr exams are over.

i play lots of alternative/pop punk rock and little metal. my influences are bands like U2, Coldplay, Creed, Muse, Nirvana, Avenged Sevenfold, Blink 182, Yellowcard, etc.

i'm not sure if i should get a neck pup, or stick to my stock ones. cos i feel like.. it does not match and stuff. i want my guitar to be versatile.. any recommendations?

dunno i guess mid range / low mid range spike sounded fat to me? i phrased mine wrongly but i get what you're saying. sounds better so mid range hump it is! sh 1 is kinda the opposite of that i feel so they're good together.

IMO its isnt really worth changing the pups in a squier. but if you think the tonewood of the squier can justify buying new pups, go for it. a good amp is probably more important in tone and versatility, not your guitars pickups.

anyway i dont think there are many mass produced pickups which do A7x AND U2, coldplay well.

well, if u are ok with how the neck pup sounds then leave it be. if not then change them.

also is ur guitar using a 5 or 3 way switch?
if its a 3, i suggest u change to a 5 way for more versatility since duncans are 4-conductors (except for a few models).
