Maybe you could ask fellow members to list their influences and other Acoustic guitarists worth checking out too.

Been playing since secondary school, mostly electric stuff but recently started learning some acoustic stuffs. Really like the works of Andy McKee and Tommy Emmanuel

Been trying to learn Rylynn but now only 1/3 through it

wow hey you know what? i wanted to learn more about fingerstyle blues once but unfortunately my attention at that time was much more diverted to playing with a pick and metal music. still am now, but now trying to find time to do some fingerstyle myself when i have time off from songwriting with my band.

i do finger pick simple and alternative chords on a guitar tho (even tho i have a nasty habit of using my index and thumb only) does that still count??

rylynn is like T.T man! i have trouble finding a banjo capo for the song anyway! hahah, my trigger capo keeps slipping off!

Me! I'm 20 this year, played the acoustic guitar since I was 13, and the electric guitar since I was 18. Acoustic guitar was mainly strumming and stuff but recently I've dropped the pick and started using my fingers. I actually appreciate the tone more, and fingerpicking is a very useful skill.

I don't exclusively play fingerstyle, but I use fingers for strumming as well except that I don't strum the normal way. I actually don't use upstrokes anymore, instead alternating between the bass strings and the treble strings (hitting with all four fingernails).

Actually I think this thread should be in the Guitar - People section, not the rookie corner because fingerstyle is quite an intermediate / advanced technique. I might actually quit playing electric guitar and focus on acoustic.

Anybody here is an exclusive acoustic guitarist? Not by budget, level or etc. but by choice.
