Buying drums online

hey guys,

any of you bought snare drums from online stores such as amazon or musician friend etc? do the prices differ much compared to buying from stores in singapore?
 
Why don't you do the calculations yourself? Compare the snare model you want from the website and our local stores. Don't forget to include shipping costs and GST (if it amounts more than $400) too.
 
Bought 2 snares online, both from Amazon. PDP Ace and Pearl Joey Jordison The prices are way better online, considering Ranking/Music Theme jacks up their price a hell lot. As for Joey Jordison, the price is way cheaper as well, but I had to pay $150++ for vpost. bloodsuckers. But at least better than Sweelee and Music Theme, always "no stock, stock might or might not arrive in the next shipment which is 2 months later". If you're sick of the waiting and uncertainty and price, go for online. Amazon has one of the most reasonable shipping charge (provided the item can be shipped internationally), and if it's late even by 1 day, they will refund your full shipping cost.
 
hi albatross, the currency that amazon use, is it in SG dollars or US dollars?? Cos I just bought a double pedal from the website, but not too sure which currency they use though. Any help?? And btw, do you use direct shipping from amazon.com or vpost.com to ship ur item?? help is much appreciated.
 
They used to be all in USD, but now at checkout there's an option to choose between USD and SGD. I use direct shipping from Amazon, and I only buy items that are marked as "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com".
 
Usually about 2 weeks, they'll show you the delivery estimate when you check-out. My last order (2 weeks ago) arrived within 6 days, which is like 21 days before the estimated delivery date. Just ordered drumheads last night again, hope it'll arrive soon!
 
hahah, yeap, hope so. :) anyway once the product reach SG, who's going to be responsible of the product?? is it SingPost or??
 
It'll be under Speedpost, who will deliver it to your house. You'll still be able to use the same tracking code to track your parcel at i-parcel's website, or Amazon's website. They'll cover the entire journey of the parcel from the shipping facility to your house.
 
Why out of sudden, it seems that I cant track my Package via USPS.com?? Anyway the delivery date supposedly on the 10-15 April. But I cant track the number today. Here's what it stated, "Sorry, the tracking system is having technical difficulties." But I can tracked it few days back. Any suggestions??

You can, if the item is eligible for saving. In fact if you buy from Guitar Center, if it's above $500, free shipping. Problem is they don't ship many brands to SG.

You're not supposed to track from USPS, you have to track from i-Parcel instead!
