halo guys, im a newbie here and i need help. im thinking of buying a jazz bass n effects so the qns im asking is which brand has the cheapest jazz bass? n which is the best bass effects or gadget?

samick..the greg bennett series..it cost are 200..haha.wads ur budget dude?

i agree with zeero_gee ... get a good bass with the money .. effects are secondary or not even necessary at all ... we are not guitarists you know .. =P ..

ive just search the internet for bass guitar n i got 2 questions to ask?
1. How much does line 6 bass costs n izzit good?
2. How much does a fender costs n do they sell 1st hand it in s'pore cause i've seen a shop at penin selling 2nd hand.

i bought my 2nd hand MIM jazz bass for 450. its slightlly lower than the market rate, so i suppose it was a good buy. but yes.. my point is that, my friend got a 2nd hand MIJ jazz-bass copy Morris bass, and its got absolutely killer tone for 400 only!

do your research and you'll probably be able to get a great valued bass for less then 500.

agreeing with zero G and exin, effects are secondary to your primary instrument. once you know the way your bass feels, you'll also know what sort of effects you should be going for instead of getting them all at the same time. -)

hope this helps.

and oh.. first hand basses are found in Swee Lee. MIA is about 1.5-3K
MIMs should be slight under 1K

a line 6 variax bass 700 - $1,665 min. and that was during the city music year end sale.

the 5 strings cost more la. starting at $1970.

but it's alrdy the new yr la. no more sale.

IMO, the line 6 variax bass doesnt haf its character. it's like not here not there. haha. would be great for recording la.

line 6 basses are expensive man .. they are supposed to be like basses with effects built in ... but okay lah ... i haven't had the chance to try them out yet

just get a second bass that is good .. like some MIM Fender ... i got my US-made Warmoth for a steal on luther ads .. =) ...

yea get a good bass to start with.. can last you a few years at least.. and good tone makes u excited to play haha...
