A message from Brader Bo, host of Bualgitar Metal Matinee 2:
"ATTENTION! Do you play in a band? Whether you are just having a fun jam with your work colleagues or participating in a band competition or rehearsing for a gig, it doesn't matter! You want good sound as individual players and as a collective. BUT sometimes or even most times, you simply CAN'T achieve it, especially if you play hard rock or METAL!
Why? - DISTORTION GUITARS!
What if you are a gigging metal band and you have NO SOUNDCHECK? What do you do?
How about the venue doesn't have 'proper' equipment?
How do you overcome the challenges?
BUALGITAR METAL MATINEE aims at 'overcoming' those challenges as far as possible, through sharing of suggestions. I emphasize the word 'suggestion' here instead of answers because guitar/band playing is an art not a science, IMHO, and suggestions are better responses than answers because firstly, I value freedom and secondly, knowledge transfer is a two way traffic meaning I don't have a monopoly on what's the correct thing to do.
So if you wanna know more, come down to Chapter Six studio, Saturday 1st August 2009, 4pm, and experience Bualgitar Metal Matinee 2.
It will be hosted by myself, Burhan Skullbanger aka Brader Bo and will feature the following bands:
CHUGGA RITUAL: My current metal project. Death-thrash hardcore insanity in a poor-man's Roadrunner United format.
S H Y M L : Young and talented musicians who do metal the experimental way, mixing aggression, melody and polyrhythmics in a huge melting pot.
THE MISFIT RAMONES: This is a punk rock band! " Excuse, me ah! But what is a punk rock band doing in a metal show? " Because metal post-NWOBHM owes it all to punk, you f'n dummy!
KEBAYAN: This is for the old school heavy metal fans. Featuring former members of YAKAMASHII, STEEL DAMAGED and SPELLBOUND, prepare to bang your head!
