my whammy bar broke at the circular threads, leaving a cm of it buried beneath the bridge. I'm using a 62 reissue strat. How?

Drilling is a good method to remove the stuck threads. Otherwise, you have to replace the bridge. Of course, replacing the trem bar is a cheaper alternative ;)

hmm my fren have this problem too.. but im not so shure if its able to be taken out.. but i think the best is still changing the bridge.
hee. his was broken due to over tightened

I have the same problem..and believe me, drilling does not work =[ Your best option now would be to buy a new bridge

replace the bridge for wat?
just replace the block.

your 2 options now would probably be to drill thru the block far enough so u can insert a new trem arm...
or cut off the new trem arm alittle at the bottom...
either way just to make sure the arm can sit comfortably in the block.

afterall, ur trem arm hangs loose right?

since its a 62 reissue strat, the cost of replacing the trem bridge with an original fender one is around $200 for the bridge alone, minus labour for installation plus new setup.

it's actually quite a common problem. i suggest sending the guitar to a good tech and having him drill out the broken portion.
