Bringing pedalboard to test guitar at shops? LOL

I just thought of this because I will be buying a guitar next week. I'm going to spend quite a lot so I want to be sure that it is what I really like (sound and feel wise).

So if my pedalboard is what I will be playing my guitar through, should I bring it down to the shop to test the guitars? Sounds a little retarded though hahha.

Anyone ever tried something like that before?

Just on a side note, I will be buying either the Epiphone LP 60s tribute or the Gibson LP studio 60s tribute humbucker. They cost around the same price. Any thoughts on these 2 items?:p

I think it's fine. Esp if it's an amp that you're trying out. I'd bring both guitar and pedalboard. But in your case pedalboard shld suffice.

However, you should note that the shop's testing amp is different from the amp you're using at home, so take that into consideration as well.

I've tried the Gibson 60's studio, sounds decent. but IMO, save for a bit more and get something along the lines of an Edwards LP.

Hey J.custom, thanks for your reply. I will check them out as well as Tokais. Any idea where I can find them at? Davis?

Sound Alchemy had a couple. Pianoman @ Bukit Timah Plaza too (but those are in terrible condition. overpriced too)

Not an avid Les Paul user so I can't comment on that.

But do bring your board & use the amp closest to yours at the store, they can't say no (y)

Sound Alchemy has one more Tokai LP I think, a pretty good piece, just needs a pickup swap. They have a gibson LP classic for sale as well, used.
