remember The xx and Florence and the Machine played in Singapore at the Esplanade earlier this year? They were supposed to come here under the Laneway Festival, a renowned Indie music festival that was voted Best in Australia. Pitchfork Media reviewed the festival as "Australia's most insurgent and unique pop music event" and the festival has been instrumental in exposing new exciting bands like Temper Trap, Mumford & Sons, The xx, Florence, Cut Copy and other now-famous bands to Australasia and the world.
This year's lineup includes:

Laneway Festival has been steadily expanding since its beginning in Melbourne. It expanded to include Sydney in 2006, Brisbane in 2007, Adelaide in 2008, Perth in 2009 and Auckland, New Zealand this year. Where else could they be expanding to in 2011??
