BOSS DM-2 Analog Delay in need of repair

I was given this ANCIENT Boss delay pedal - a DM-2 which doesn't work.

Does anyone know how to diagnose and repair these things (and could they do it out of love rather than for money ) and is this thing even worth repairing? Harmony Central people rave about it, but dunno if I should bother or just chuck it away.
