Hi Soft, I'm a electric guitarist looking for a band with similar influences and tastes in Music.
I've got 2-3 years experience and I'm heavily influenced by Blues Rock and Roll. Of course, we all have different definitions of Blues Rock and Roll, so some bands that I'm influenced by include: Guns and Roses, Slash's Work, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, AC/DC and some others.
I'm also open to some country-style blues. (I'm just picking up the harmonica!) I should also mention that I'm not into the million-notes-per-second style of playing guitar. I personally believe that good music tells a story, rather than seeing how many tricks and gimmicks you can cram into your 20 minute solo.
I'm alright with the occasional cover, but I'm really looking for a band that's interested in working on some original material. I've had some prior band experience as well.
I'm able to jam on weekends or after office hours. As a student with no income, I may not be able to commit if regular jamming entails going to expensive jamming studios on a weekly basis.
Of course, most importantly, I'm looking for a fun group that enjoys making Music simply out of love for it.
If you think I'll fit into your motley crew (Motley Crue is a great band too), you can e-mail me at afrotoast@gmail.com or SMS me at 97681059. You could call me, but SMS me a heads-up first. (insert thumbs-up emoticon here) You could just go ahead and reply to this thread too, if you want me to contact you instead... or clarify anything.
