Bigsby. Which model for Les Paul Special?

Hi.

I have a Les Paul Special (Single Cut) and I'm thinking of changing the tail piece to a bigsby. I'm reading up on the description and seems the B-5 (for flat top) is the one I need. Then I saw the B-7 where the description says "For les paul".

Right now I'm a bit confused on which one to get. Anyone with experience have any idea?

B5 is the one u need.
B7 is made for arch-tops which the LP is.
your special has a flat-top.
tho a B7 can still fit with some slight mod.

the B7 can fit on a special.

the B7 looks much better than the B5 imho..

functionality-wise, no diff.

check out this killer vintage one..

www.elderly.com has the best online prices for Bigsbys. i got a USA B7 from them, and after shipping it cost much less than Stew Mac's unshipped price.

oh, and KC from Zen/Maestro Guitars is very experienced with Bigsby installations, and his charges are very reasonable.

yea i didnt say the B7 couldnt fit.
but it needs a slight mod so the break angle over the bridge isnt so severe as its actually meant for arch tops.
well, the above definitely applies for SGs.
and since the SG body is thinner, the bottom of the bigsby needs to be shaved off :P

but yea, the B7 does look much better than B5.

What Mods?

I'm thinking of putting a B7 on a SG ! What mods would i need to do? I wouldn't mind the excess of the bigsby overhanging if it is not a problem

thanks
