Bigsby Vibrato

hi guys!

i've got a epiphone archtop guitar, an emperor. been thinking of fitting on a bigsby bridge and vibrato on to it.

anyone know if its possible? and if its possible, where can i find a bigsby bridge?

Probably a B6 will fit.

No you're not going to find a Bigsby vibrato in Singapore, you have to buy from an online shop in the states. Elderly instruments was where I got mine.

yup you will need a B6 (US-made at around $200) or B60 (asian-made at around $100) for the emperor.

www.elderly.com is the cheapest around but they dont have the B60 in stock. gotta email them and place an order.

let's not forget that installation doesn't come cheap. also, it's not really suitable for crazy usage if you know what I mean.

hmm a B6/B60 is easier to install than a B7. no screw hole on the top of the guitar.

just need to drill for the mounting screws at the strap pin. setup should still be the same as with the stock bridge setup, as the B6 is also a floating tailpiece like the stock tailpiece.

and yes - a bigsby ain't for dive bombs. only gentle wiggles. but what a sound! the feel is untouchable :D

PS: if your emperor is the one with the all-wooden jazz bridge, it is advisable to use a tune-o-matic or roller bridge.

the friction of the bigsby + wooden bridge = fail :x
