Hi guys been looking around for a good acoustic guitar, pop by a shop and saw a big baby taylor. Researching on it for quite a while, just want to know any of u guys out there had played it before. Need some comments before i decide whether to buy it a not.

Thanks :)

Big Baby? Definitely a good buy. I tried it before and when unplugged, it sounds very close to the Taylor 214ce. It's got a full sound despite the slightly smaller body, and of course it has Taylor's unmatched playability. I found it difficult to fault and actually hope to own one someday. :) My only gripe is the lack of electronics, though I'm not sure if Taylor makes an electro-acoustic version.

thanks bro. Its unplugged with any electronics, yup tried it at the shop the sound is bright and warmth at the same time. What strings would u suggest if i wanna change? Elixir nanoweb coating strings?

A lot of Taylor players use Elixirs, but personally I'd use light-gauge Ernie Ball Earthwoods. My favourite acoustic strings for quite a long time now. Nothing against Elixir, it's just that I've got very dry palms so strings dying fast isn't a problem I get, so regular uncoated strings are more practical.

You might want to consider the Taylor GS Mini..fuller with more depth than the Big Baby which sounds thinner.

As for the the elixirs last the longest but they are bright in nature..if you want a more natural sounding woody tone with slightly more bottom end then I would suggest the Coated New martin Lifespan strings..they are good last about 2 months..

cheers
Jarvis
