What's the best gigbag?

Must:
..be lightweight but offers extreme protection and durability
..perhaps have quite a few nice pockets
..look attractive

vern, how lightweight must it be? I can't recall if u tried my John Mayer incase bag, and it isn't exactly lightweight, but it sure offered v good protection. I would throw that around in the trunk if I had to. It had well-padded straps, so it was comfy to carry on the back. A cheaper alternative would be the Spork E Bag offered by cherns (rdm). It's basically a cheaper incase bag...similar functions, protects pretty well. I'm having some issues with the shoulder straps tho - it kinda hurts at the shackle-joint to the bag. For the rest of it though, it's not a bad deal. Nice pockets too. I'll bring mine over the next time so u can check it out.

I haven't seen other gigbags that I'd be willing to let my guits be thrown ard in. There must be some around though.

Ken - yes, I remember it now! That was very very rugged and still light (as in far lighter than a hardcase) - thanks, I will check it out on the web!

Cheers

hmm i have a RDM gig bag as well.. i bought the dual guitar one... thats useful... protection wise is pretty good too.

if you want lightweight. i suggest you just buy a handsome tweed fender gigbag...

the RDM slim bags are the best bet right now if you want it light/sleek/good looking and offering good protection.

there's this Taiwanese brand that has serious solid padding, looks cool in minimalistic black and has a pocket large enough for my ME30, adaptor & cables. Forgot the name coz I took the label off but it's super solid ..almost like a hard case and featherlight. my axes in there even took a few falls with no damage whatsoever.

Selling at Davis for $60

I also like the gator gig bags

incase design is flawed by its laden weight.
nice looking and all.. but not practical for everyday use. ESP if you dont drive.

i usually bring my el-cheapo $24 gig bag for jams...
or now...
The RDM DUAL CASE.... instant "Backup guitar" in case of emergencies.
$165

its still pricey in my books...

im also keen on the slim RDM bags...
(chern you reading this right? - discounts please)

Ed, exactly what I said in my first post...chern's spork E's...S$220 :)

It really depends on what sort of abuse you expect to subject the bag/guitar to.

cherns of rdm offers a decent range of bags, prob worth your while to check them out and see if you like 'em.

Oh yeah. I got so excited when you said John Mayer, I never read the rest... :)
