hey guys..
i need recommendations for a acoustic electric guitar...[with cutaway]
i play mainly strumming on it...
sometime fingerpick...
what is the cheapest and best acoustic electric guitar i can get in town...
'Best' is really a subjective term. But I recommend the Cort Earth 70e. It has a built-in pickup, and is a full-sized dreadnought. Personally tried it and I liked it, though I didn't buy it...
It's good for strumming because of the bright tone. Solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides. So you'll get a bright but not overly bright tone. Perfect for strumming. There's my recommendation! I just don't fancy the plastic strap buttons.
If I remember correctly, it costs in the region of $300.
eugene bro, its solid top? wow good price if it is. spruce tops i tried are always bright sounding. where isit available?
meself looking for a solid top bright sounding guitar. so far best i've tried is the maestro ed-2 $549 without pickups add 200 for electronics. 2nd best is craftster(forgot spelling) forgot what model at ranking for 540 with electronics. but isnt as bright and loud as the maestro. both have solid spruce top and mahagony sides and back.hmmmm wonder why the maestro sounds louder and brighter.
kerplunk, thanks for the correction! guess i misheard it. haha. i guess i still need convincing if $200 should be spent on a brighter, louder sound. haha. come on psycho me!!!
theunknown: Craftster? I think you mean Crafter since they can also be found at Ranking. They look well-made and all but somehow I find they sound a little sterile... My vote would go to the Maestro.
theunknown: I think it's a solid-top. At least that's what I've been told. It doesn't have the solid-top sticker on it like the Earth 100 has, though, so I can't be sure. It can be found at Swee Lee.
