berklee summer courses, are they beneficial?

has anyone been to one before? i'm contemplating saving up to fund myself for the summer course percussion fest next july. it's close to 2k if you want it comfortable, lodgings makan and all.

i'll be taking the role of music director for my church from this coming jan, so i'm thinking of getting more exposure.

well i think going to berklee will definately be a very enriching experience!...if u can afford it just go man!....as a music director u can tell others that u had attended classes in berklee they will view u differently man...=)

hey man, tht is kinda steep for that short a time. maybe a music directors course wld be more beneficial then a percussion course. more specific u know wat i mean. i'm a drummer myself as u prob already know and i've got to be a band leader which mean writing chord charts for the band and stuff. i'm finding it really tough, and a band leader of musiccal dir course wld be really gd. And i feel just doing it for the sake of a berklee name under ur belt helps but ultimately is just that.

kinda ex man.. sumore go there for so short, but it'll be good to have a cert with berklee .. plan to study there after my Os, btw, wads the req. for their summer course?

no requirements for summer courses. just 16 and above.

it's mainly for the exposure; getting to know more "exotic" percussion instruments etc.

blurred: i get what you're coming from. i'm just into this summer course coz drum's my primary instrument. not looking so much to improve my worth as music director.

is there a music director course in anycase? (soujnds really weird)

I think theres producer course lol... i guess producer = music director LOL... btw, wad other summer courses do they have?.. ure just gona fly all the way there to take their summer course? woahh :lol:

if i'm not wrong britain has a conductors course in this place called kneller hall. ont a strict MD course but its close, saf band directors go through tht

but conductors are different. so i guess i'm not fit for that.

producer's also a different ballgame. that is aimed to equip you with music production skills and knowledge.
