I highly recommend using DVDs to get started rather than books. You learn twice as fast by watching & hearing.
The stuff from www.homespuntapes.com are really good. Some are available from DM Gear at Peace Centre & Trumpet Praise at the basement of Plaza Sing. They r not cheap, abt $60 each.
The other DVD that's very good is the fender series 'getting started on acoustic guitar' (there's also electric version). Available at Swee Lee for abt $30.
