Sudden impulse on writting something, yesterday afternoon decided to go for my usual evening run after lessons.. Putting on my PT kit.. i realise how low the air tempearture was and well as being windy.. really nice nice weather... Sky was 50% clouded and the setting sun casted an orange glow over the neighbourhood.. The clouds formed nice patterns like small fluffy popcorns ... Walking out of the house, I could feel the cool breeze on my skin.. Ahh..relaxing after a day's work!

Running to the park for stretching, I saw several groups of boys playing basketball jubilantly.Ah the days when i was doing that, over 10 years ago..nostalgic... The quiet neighnourhood was filled with soft sounds, of maids calling children back home, of birds chirping, of the quiet hum of a vehicle occasionally passing by, an old man brisk walking seriously , a caucasian couple taking their huge shepherd for a walk...The leaves of the huge trees swaying gently in the wind.. The moment was pictureques and serene..

About to start the run. 3,2,1, Go!

My first leg, going through the japanese school and Qifa primary..

"Marilah Kita Bersatu..." Oh , its school dismissal! Kids lining up and playfully making fun of their friends.. I can hear this teacher shout over the PA ' Boys at the back, stand still!' I can see the smile on their faces. Their happy, carefree, innocent expressions like baby angels that have descended on earth. I see parents waiting outside the school gate, some waiting anxiously, some happily chatting with others..

Wow, I have been living in this neighbourhood for more than 10 years and i haven seen all these? Or had i just took them for granted?

Than i thought, what if, suddenly a whole neighbourhood is wiped out by a hurricane?

Just giving a thought. Singaporeans are lucky. Damn lucky bunch of people. Just for anyone who feels miserable because he failed his 'O's, or got dumped by his girlfriend, or lost his pet dog. And u get depressed and feel you are the most sucky person and the ultimate failure of this world. Yes we must have felt something like that in some point of our lives.

Come on get out of it. There are people a milllion times worse then us. You know it.

come on and tell me about your beautiful views in singapore !

we are very lucky to haf ibanez,gibson,fenders,absolut......unlike some others ....i was on ebay just now..some dude stated he will not deal with indonesians[no offence anyone:)]. see singapore trustworthy

Brother... when I heard your story it seems like a dejavu to me. Yes I agreed that most of us takes things for granted, can't get good results wanna jump down from flat. Break-ups? slit the wrist or swallow the wonderful panadols. Singapore is beautiful to me coz ultimately we're living in a multi-racial society. Pillars of our strength lies because of our diversity. We can also look at the finer things in life. Really love to see those elderly folks doing tai-chi early in the morning at the neighbourhood park. The best part is, you can even see 'makciks' in 'tudung' joining them too..and basically they feel happy doing it. Actually there are many things that I would like to share but hey, I'm not so good in words..so what do I do? write songs! haha!
Honestly, really glad to hear your sharing!

you noe.. even in realli backwards countries.. i feel that there is happiness as long as the basic needs are provided. no matter wad it's still their homes yea?

yes singaporeans are lucky.. but sometimes arent we caught up too much in our hectic lifestyles tt we turn a blind eye to the warmth tt is actualli perpetually around us?

it's a simple secret to stay happy -- learn how to chill properly during hard times and take things as they come

I did the cross country this morning at turf city. Afterwards i was so tired and hot and sweaty. then a beautiful breeze blew past and it felt soooo good.

Singapore IS indeed a b-e-a-u-tiful n blessed country. but it is kinda sad there is a majority of pple who have nothing but complaints n they cant seem to think for themselves what wld happen to us right now had our leaders frm the past not done what they have done.

yeah, singaporeans are really lucky...
no natural disasters.
it can be quite hot, but when the rain pours, it all gets balanced.(like it is right now)
even the poor have a roof to live in, unlike the poors from other countries.
singapore is just too unique. nothing else in the world.
which country have highrise buildings with greeneries.
which country have racial harmony among the many races.
and which country have many different types of loverly food.
lucky us..

but one thing how singapore is not good is because of it's inflexibility. the systems are too rigid, few ppl travel the path less taken...

but thank God for our geography

Yeah, Singapore is quite lucky. Stable economy, low crime rate (all there is in the news is things about racist bloggers) and how many of you have felt an earthquake? I've felt about 8 in my life although I'm only 16 and ever since I've stayed here since 5 years ago I've felt none.

The food can be worked on though. Not saying it's bad. It's just there's room for improvement.

a lot of ppl would probably disagree with you. a brit colleague recently came to our land for a short biz trip. years back he was stationed here for 2 years as an expat... the first day he touched down he rushed straight to his fav stall in upper thomson for prata and curry... he said the thing he missed most in singapore is our FOOD... my frenz who went abroad to work/study all miss one thing in common, even on short biz trip, our nice food frequently flashes thru my head...

you should stop eating frozen food my friend

yesterday's heavy thunder rain was beautiful.
although i was kind of scared that there would be blackout, when my friend had.
