recently i had applied for a position in carrefour singapore as a display artist.
what will i be expecting in there?
anybody who are in the company please advise.
or you can give me tips if you are in this trade too.

stand there nude and put a big signboard over you which says
*I LOVE CARREFOUR..DO YOU?*
and hand them pamplets of items going for good discounts;)

Somehow, it sounds a bit wrong. For one, you can't possible be an artist (the drawing artist, that is). What's there to draw in Carrefour?

But judging from the name you gave, i guess it's one where you wear/model some clothes, or advertise some electronic goods? There are hundreds of possibilities i guess.

Nevertheless, you should have asked what your job scope would be like, since you're the one who's gonna be doing the job.

man, you don't know what it is and you went and applied for it...nice going my friend. BTW, have you signed any contract with them?

mmn...display artist or so called visual merchandiser...u got to come up with a concept of what products they wanna highlight then plan, source for materials, and do up a attractive display concept at the allocated area, its a ever changing kinda of thing, wreck your brains everyday for attractive display settings sometimes irregular working hrs, lots of hands on job haha...knowledge of some design software would be of good use. anyway, u got the job already?

the part of about the attractive display concept sounds close.

i do actually kinda of know what the job is about. they do printing of sales posters for the stores, write those red and yellow promotion posters etc.
i actually got the job but what i worry is that i heard rumours that it is not easy in this carrefour display sector.

Display Artist is like what ciki mentioned. Its also called Visual Merchandiser in other places, basically they're the same. I believe you don't have to print/design for their in-house posters or signages. They usually have a Graphic Designer/Artist to do that in the same department. I might be wrong though..

Anw, good luck with the job. Try it out first before concluding: rumours are just rumours.. And its difficult to find a job (nearly ANY job) nowadays.. ;)
