Hello all

Sometimes bassists only play by ear which can be an obstacle in their future progress. Playing by ear is a plus but on its own and without theory, one falls short of one's potential. Hence its good for beginners to learn their basics with theory alongside. I am theory-rooted and have been playing for about 9 years now, began at Yamaha for about 2 years and then moved on to proficient bass private teachers. Also been playing in various bands since I started out. I am currently 23 years of age. Through the lessons, we can explore various genres like funk, pop, rock... and also explore the things you're interested in. I think that this is a two-way learning process, I can teach you the things I have learnt through the years and you may also provide me with brand new insights..

I've been teaching for about 1 year half now, have taught students of different standards and pace so I'll definitely be able to guide you according to what is best for your learning.

So here goes...

Beginner lesson includes:
Basic Theory
Basic picking and fingerstyle
Practicing with the metronome/drum machine
Understanding of the Fretboard
Contempo pop
Fundamentals of bass technique
Exercises to improve techniques
Basics of Slapping and Popping
Introduction to tapping
Basic scales

Intermediate lesson includes:
Advanced techniques for fingerstyle
Speed training
Advanced Slapping and Popping
Advanced Tapping
Further exploration of the higher registers
Exploration of different types of scales and modes

Of course these are just part of the general outline of the scheduled class, and hence are no way fixed. More things can be covered/explored according to your choice and preferences.

Lessons will be at my place. North of the island, specifically Ang Mo Kio.

PM for further information on class and fees.

Thank you for viewing!

Cheers!
