Im thinking of doing a "live" drum recording soon as an experiment and am short of a bass drum microphone. Would like to check, does anyone here own a bass drum microphone and is willing to lend/rent it to me for a small sum? Don't really need a very high-end one, just a microphone that can capture the low end frequencies well will do the job.
Was thinking of renting from shops but I'm not too sure which shops provide the microphone for rent and how much it would cost for a day. If it is going to be expensive, it would only make sense if I were to get the microphone myself instead of renting it right?
Also, am not too sure which are the good microphones for bass drum recording yet. So far I've only heard of the Wharfedale KM4 that comes in the KMD-7 pack, the Shure PG52 and BETA52A. Could anyone recommend me some good kick drum microphones at a good price range?
Thanks!
