hey there

me and my band have written some originals already and are eager to record and send our demos to anyone who would listen. but we cant afford to do recording at a studio for its really expensive.

is it okay to record the demo using an ordinary mic and a recorder?

thanks ;)

my band did our recording for $76

$76 sound very good! where was this done? using a software or at a studio?
If at a studio, isnt it $76/hr?
Cos ive been looking arnd for studios to record too and the cheapest i could find was at Peninsula plaza TNT Studios going for $45/hr if im not wrong!

Use ur pc and a recording software, that is the cheapest. Try to look ard for "cheaper versions" of recording software

if u got friends from SAE, that would be a good choice esp since u got a super tight budget. downside to this, students wil be doing the recording so u knoe whatcha gonna get. :D

bedroom recording would be good. But drum recordings in an apartment? havent seen one done yet. Cant beat a proper studio settings. Save a bit more dough lah, and practice more. Esp vocals. Nobody practice enough vocals these days, i dont understand why. The whole point is, if bands had enough practice, ud be amaze at how less hours needed for the whole recordin process, hence big savings for the band.

kthnxbye.

soundmix is a studio...it is relocating?? damn..i haven get my band to record a demo from there yet man...

there has been an accident

Hi guys
Soundmix is relocating to a bigger and better place. Our landlord played us out big time so now we have to look for other places.
I do believe we are still the only studio who is crazy enough to charge 25/hr for a demo jam recording. Quality is high for that price I think too.
So I will liase with James to for a more appropriate advert deal.

Till then
Soundmix is on a long vacation to recharge.

sigh stupid landlord. 25phr is a great deal for the quality soundmix offers. my band will be waiting so let us know when soundmix is opening again!

i heard fyewerkz! studios do recordings at $30/hr

the quality quite decent ah

last time my band go there record i was quite satisfied, and we paid around $130...

haha heyy what a coincidence! fyewerkz happens to be my classmate's cousin's studio man. its located in kallang. ive done recording there before....the quality is okay lah, quite good for a demo.

alight at kallang mrt station and exit on the right. opposite the road there are some shophouses. keep walking straight until you see a flight of stairs with the fyewerkz sign on top.

cheers mate ;)

we went to studiophile to do ours...it's at bugis village...it's digital though...meaning no amps and acoustic drums...u listen through headphones and it's electronic drums

zel... if u don't mind share with us yr music?? if not don't mind me asking how was the drum trigger prog? what did they use?? how does it sound??
