Audio Interfaces - simultaneous input/outputs

Gurus, need some help regarding simultaneous I/Os

The Presonus Firestudio Mobile has 10 (8xanalog, 2 x digital) inputs and 6 outputs
Will the software (StudioOne or Nuendo3 for e.g) recognise all 10 inputs as seperate tracks?
This is for drum recording, so will need at least 8 I/O to do so.

Otherwise, could I get a recommendation for something similar from other brands? (M-Audio, Focus etc.)
minimum of 6-8 simultaneous analog inputs and outputs for recording drums.

unless you've got an a/d converter to utilise the digital input for 2 more inputs, the maximum simultaneous i/o you've got is your 8 analog inputs..the software should recognise them as discrete inputs (eg input/mic/line 1, input 2 etc.) allowing you to record 8 discrete drum tracks..
