are external speakers required for Blackstar HT-5 combo??

to start with, i am just using the amp for home practice, which is also my first amp.
i am definitely gonna buy the Blackstar HT-5 combo, but i am unclear whether the combo is sufficient by itself without using any external cabs. From what ive read, it is needed for a speaker to be plugged in to the combo, to prevent damage to the amp. But there is already an internal loudspeaker in the combo, so is an external cab necessary? i appreciate any help to this thread.

They are unnecessary. The internal speaker in the combo should be good enough.

what u read about was probably for the head alone. nvr tried it at home but i heard it will blow the tubes if u switch on the head w/o the cab or the emulated speaker (earphones) plugged in. but the combo is meant for ppl who do not need the head and cab seperately, thus the term combo which is the head AND cab combined into one unit.

combos are made to be used without externals,am i wrong?
