Are Epi/Samick/Aria stock pickups good?

I find that their tones are always the same. Mellow. What do you guys think?

They're stock, go figure. The stock ones on the LPs are especially muddy.

dependin on which model la. my friend's epi lp pickups SUCK. they have the worst microphonic problems ever. brought it to jam once and was nearly thrown out for making huge amounts of muddy, bassy feedback. from then on i NEVER used his guitar again. =X

well i use a Samick Artiste Series ... u can check em out at Gallery 2004 or Pedalboards ... (i forgot which one hehe!)

you'll instantly recognise it as you'll see that dat guitar is the only one which White Tiger Stripes on it ... ow it has Leopard skin on it ....

Well the sound it pretty good i should say ... the neck pup sounds 98% as close to the Les Paul Slash uses for his song >>> Sweet Child o Mine!

My epiphone explorer is kicking my gibby sg's ass in the tone department right now...I don't know if it's 'cause of the pickup or the type of wood the guitar is made of...most probably a mixture of both with a lil dash of luck :lol:

generally, i find stock pickups really lacking... and yes, epi lp pickups are the worst, cuz they are so muddy... but then, the pickups also depend on your personal preference and what type of music u play as well, yes?
