hey guys, from any of ur experiences, are the zildjian/sabian cymbals cheaper in sg or malaysia? cuz i might be going to KL to get some...any recommmendations?

Imported music stuffs - generally cheaper in Singapore compared to Malaysia or even Indonesia. If not, about the prices would be about the same, just that you will have the aditional hassle of lugging the goods back.

In Malaysia, it is not just about pricing, it also got to do with the variety for selection. Yes, there are Sabians and Zildjians - professional or entry level :?:

deinitely not entry levels... the least i wud take from sheet bronze is the ZXT trashformer.... i tot zildjians wud be cheapr there cuz yamaha lieks to overprice stuff and sweelees variety is terrible....

Remember, in Singapore the best and latest music stuff are always ahead of those in the region. Most unlikely you can get what you wanted. If swee lee in Singapore is terrible, don't expect swee lee in PJ(still there?) to be better... and swee lee in PJ is considered the best in Malaysia...

This is an Ad in Malaysia... even ZXT titanium need to be brought in by individuals to sell in the country... check out the over pricing 8O

man those ZXT titaniums are dam plastic.... and i think sweelee in sg has no variety cuz theyve been cleared out, might be lucky to have a full stock in malaysia...

this is rather out of point, but talking about price comparison on drum gear, indonesia has a yamaha branch that sells hardware (such as stands, clamps, etc.) at a MUCH CHEAPER price.

you can pay 30 sing for a clamp there and pay 90 here.

hope that helps :)

Actually, I am real interested to go to Singapore and check the cymbal prices out! :D

Zildjian top lines such as the K series, A series and customs range between 750 ringgit to 1250 depending on the diameter and weight.

Sabians are just a tad cheaper, and if you get a good deal u can get it for like 20 percent less then the Z's. Paiste are few and expensive.

Staggs are pretty cheap and can be purchased at JS Music next to Times Square around the Lot 10 area.Meinls and Alchemy(Istanbuls) can be purchased at Do Re Mi Chow Kit and they are cheaper compared to the Z's.

The one in front of Lot 10 is Bentley music, which I and most musicians go and have a look at all those instruments and which can never afford. In KL Plaza next to Lot 10 has a Yamaha which sells Sabians.

I am fairly dissapointed with the pricing of cymbals here and was hoping to go Singapore and check it out soon, since there is more options. If you guys find that its a lot more cheaper over there please inform me. Thanx! :P

Seems like Zildjian is a lil cheaper here and Paiste pricing is rather ok too, although they are still steeper than Sabian and Zildjian, our Paiste prices are still beta when compared to a number of foreign countries, even those European ones.

its around the same la.singapore's k custom 20" is round 480. so malaysia would be 1100? its all about the same. no point making it trip just for the purpose of getting a cymbal.

personally, if you're short on cash, get alot of entry paistes...
Change you're whole kit to the 101 series. don't add anything else.
otherwise it'll over power the 101's.
Or if you've got a bit more to spend, mix 201's and pst 3 and 5's.

a cheap and reasonable set up;
14" 101 hats.
16" 201 crashes.
16" 302 crash.
18" pst3/5 china.

Never buy entry level paiste rides.
and those crash/rides too.
Either get a proper ride or a proper crash.
