summore i dunno where my receipt..only got my packaging..but no receipt.damn it! :x

There's an Apple Centre at Funan as well. They do close early if I'm not wrong, do give them a call. Wheelock Place is your best bet I think, I remember one of my friends went down to collect some stuff after office hours, but not too sure as well.

They can approx track your ipod production date by its serial number, but that might affect the actual warranty period.

I don't wanna be a spoiler, but the service at the i-shop at cineleisure is the main place where they deal with all them big problems.

they don't check your receipt. They keep track of everything on your ipod by your serial number:) that's how i got a new pair of headphones for free:) ipod has lifetime warrenty rite? Last time my ipod hard disc crashed they took it in.. After a week, they gave me a brand new one.

I doubt they give brand new. Those are probably refurbished. But what I like about Apple is they let you buy their refurbished products, alot cheaper but still warranty wise same as brand new ones.

unlike certain brand whose refurbished products are given only abt 3 month warranty?

bet its meant to last 5 months.after that you fork out the dough for the repairs shud any shit happen.

Its refereshing to see that people are quite misled. Small repairs yes, the retail shops might be able to solve it for you. Such as format your iPods. But all big jobs such as spoilt mobo, dead iPod hdd etc are done at the Ang Mo Kio, which is part of Apple SG. The cock-up rate with the retailers trying to do repair jobs is quite high. Delays, unresolved issues etc are quite common.

You might get more advice on mac related issues at Hardwarezone's apple sub-forum. Especially those warranty related.

iPod if im not wrong has only 1 year warranty. last time i checked no warranty cost of replaceing a battery is ard 240 bucks. at that price you might as well buy a new one.

There are 3rd party battery replacements. alot cheaper but mine was a 3G model not sure if they have it for the 5G one.

And yes they do not give you a new one, you get someone's broken set which is refurbished and fixed.

i went to the apple service centre at wheelocks..

the guy sed they dun do repairs..but they replace the ipod only..

BUT!!!!!! i dun have my receipt~!!! so cannot.,.

den he sed if i wanna replace out of warranty..have to pay $108...

wad a weird number..hahaha.

Hi, the authorised apple service centres are Micro 2000 at alexander road... performance motors (bmw showroom) near ikea, diversitec at toa payoh, and apple's ang mo kio warehouse.
Do a search on them, and give em' a call yah.

Idon't remember needing a receipt... Icalled their customer service, which you can guess is outsourced to dunno which country, to verify my Ipod's warranty thru the serial no. Altogether Isent my I Ipod 3 times within that 1 year warranty. Mine is a refurbished set which Ibought from their website. THe battery died again after the warranty so Igot myself the replacement battery from simlim. Not a big fan of Apple, but Ilike the wide range of 3rd party accessories for their mp3 player.

my estimated purchase date was set to 31st Nov 2005...

and i bought it in like april..ard there..mid april..

im juz bummed over the "hold" button! :x
