If you are looking for guitars within the budget range, you should be open to other brands. IMO anything above the mid range Takamines are worth considering because everything else below that is probably made in China and the differences are minute. price on the other hand is another story.
Yes, Takamine is available at Peninsula. BUT BUT! Check out this good sale first before you make your decision. Davis is not having any sale now, so, the prices are the same whether you go this week or next week... AS FOR TOMORROW! last day of City Music sale. as the above fellow softie says, you should keep your options open.

They have solid top/back/sides guitar with plugin function for S$300+ ~400+ ! SO give it a chance to impress you. I just bought 1 from them, although I went with the intention of getting an Ovation. But bought their guitar instead.
I know sometimes the brand is important, but take a step back. What you are aiming for is a guitar that sounds amazing and you would want to pick it up and play whenever you walk past it. Not some impressive brand-guitar that does not sit well in your hand and does not sound as much as it cost. This is my philosophy in buying instruments: Be objective and Buy something that produce the sound you like! You might want to be brand-loyal (that's being subjective) but you should also researched into the brand and know which range they does best.
