Anyone into jap guitarists here?

Just a thought, cos i'm seeing lots of coverage on the usual guitar greats like Becker, Vai and such. They are great imo, but anyone here into the jap bands or players like Tak Matsumoto(B'z), Norifumi Shima(Concerto Moon) or bands like SeikimaII, Galneryus or Onmyouza etc etc...... :roll:

ok seriously, i like akira takasaki from loudness, although i only 2 of his solo songs, its damn nice. Next would be hmmm Hide/pata. I like X japan mah.

just started out liking all the jap stuff really. still can't get tak matsumoto stuff here, tho i do remember someone mentioning an online store somewhere..
love x japan myself. also, wonder if u guys heard of a guy called kazumasa oda? not a guitarist per se but songs are vunderful too.
would love to get into more jap stuff. any recommendations to get my feet wet? preferably with readily available cds in sg...cheers

jap cds in singapore are ridiculously priced at hmv.....so never ever get from there. either d/l or get from online. yeah akira takasaki too nearly forgot about him......

haha thor....tat one damn hard to find man....but to quench ur thirst for such can go try Concerto Moon this band.....terror i tell u :twisted:

i watch the akashi video, the drummer and the lead vox is the most pretty....hehehehehehehe

but jap bands i like l'arc~en~ciel though the lead guitar is not that zai like akira takasaki. the bassline damn cool though.

i'm still watching the Satan All Stars & the NHK live... Jail O'hashi & Ace Shimizu are just amazing.

the l'arc guitarist ken is quite of a different player than akira... heh. do check out his side band Sons of All Pussys. almost a solo on every song. very interesting phrasing by ken... but gets kinda predictable after a while... :?

well yea...l'arc was one of the first bands i listened to, they still rock big time now. i suspect tak is using duncans.....but ill go check up my mags to see if there's any info on his setup.....btw his signature lp has got a nice finish.

my most fave jap band has to be Siam Shade.......saw a thread sometime ago about them here hehe.
