Any writers here?...

I know that many of us musicians are also songwriters and lyrics writers, but is there anyone else here who actually writes fiction, narratives, non-fiction and the like? No need to have anything published yet, as long as it is a serious interest to you, you can share!

I'll start. I like to write mostly fiction with scientific influences (particularly microbiology and genetics) since that is my field of study, and I like to make them very dark but with some dry humour here and there. I'm quite easy-going but I've grown tired of the typical "cop hunt killer" thriller because pretty much most novels in the bookstores today are thrillers.

But being easy-going, I like to write horror and action as well, and of course disaster stories as well. Unfortunately, nothing's gone to print yet but I hope to release something someday. So yeah, any other writers here?

Hey, I write short stories and dark poerty but not on a daily basis. Only write them wen I feel like it, you know when the mood comes.
But have never publish anything yet.
It's mostly for my own collection.

Ha ha I enjoyed writing short stories in secondary school (especially for essays). Most of them were fantasy/fiction (other worlds, folklore, or just funny characters with weird happenings). I would really love to write humour but I find it difficult to convey those in stories! Studying in JC has robbed me of time to create more of these stories lately but I'm sure I'll get back to writing more once I' done with my last Lit paper

i loved essays in secondary school, but the story type on la. not the argumentative and all that crap.

and i got 24/25 for one of my sec 4 exams english composition. and also, the paper was marked by the most strict teacher in school. heheh so happy sia that time.

now i write songs for my bands Freaks of Adroit and the now dead Almost an Accident

I been writing lyrics ever since I picked up guitar recently. So far got 2 songs. Have to admit they are directly inspired by FOTC.

anyway. I started on a story at around July this year, spent hours a day and worked on it for about two weeks before I had to leave it alone for months up till now because school started. It initially was just a short fictional & satirical "blog entry" but then I thought it had potential so I extended the front and worked on the back, added alot more details but it's still very mediocre I believe.

Gahh. I'm definitely going to continue with it this December, I had even wrote a timeline and character history at the same time I was trying develop it months ago.

I wouldnt say the story's very dark but I think what I find lacking in my story is character interaction. Don't really know how to incorporate that with what I have now, maybe in the later part of the story la, IF I even get there far ha.

Most of my short stories are about loss of love. It's my forte.
