Any suggestions for suitable amps?

Hi all, I currently have an Aria STG-003. Im interested in playing songs from an array of genres e.g guns n roses, blink182 etc. However, my ultimate aim is to play songs from the likes of silverstein, blessthefall, alesana etc. Any suggestions for suitable amps to use? Suggetions are much appreciated.

P.s Im quite broke at the moment.

Have you considered getting a distortion pedal? Because low-wattage solid states costing around $100 usually won't have good onboard distortion (too harsh, trebly, not enough mids, etc) though many have good cleans. So yeah, I'd recommend you stick with your current amplifier but get a distortion pedal to provide the distortion.

Thx for ur take on the situation. But, i dun have much experience on the guitar much less knowledge on pedals. Could u introduce any suitable amps which are nt tat costly?

get a distortion pedal Boss Ds-1 or Ds-2.Swee lee having 40% off.
amp i would recommend a roland cube 15x.

save up them talk abt getting new gear.

people who make purchases that are very very cheap usually do so cos they really really want something new and "better" than what they have, when they dont even have money to begin with. so they end up buying 10w amps under 100bucks and they still end up unsatisfied.

be patient and wait till u have enough cash then start considering making purchases. very cheap stuff usually suck. especially when it comes to amps.

May i ask how big is the place ur playing? It sometimes depends on the venue/situation as well..I mean, u don't want to crank up a 100 watts tube amp in ur small room right??

For a practice amp, i'll recommend u a kustom 30 watts amp..It's kinda ok i guess..

Wow. Checked out the roland u recommended alr. But the costs really bothers me cuz im only a student and the only thing i can do is save up for something. I guess if im really gonna get tis roland i needa save up for quite some time.

hey! i am getting cube 30x too. Swee lee now have 30% store wide. Therefore the cube 30x cost around 250-270 for 1st hand. i think it is a steal already. 2nd hand dealers are selling mint condition at around the same price. why not? Am going down this sat. These few days i am researching abt amp too, u may consider cube 15x if u do not plan to gig outside. Cube 15x is enough to make ur neighbour knock on ur door already. =) 15x is cheaper buy a hundred or so.

yeah im using the roland cube 15x myself.i only use like 1/5 of the max vol,its loud enough for your room.any louder then that,your gonna shake your entire block.:twisted:

both of 'em are nice amps and not expensive ... try it on the music shops first ... pay... and then bring it home

In that case just go around and test the 30 watts amp..I personally think that 15 watts are too low even for practice purposes..

Actually it's up to you to get the one with build in effects or not, as long as you're happy with it..

Well i guess the Roland cube 15x is the way for me. But i saw someone suggesting a Roland micro cube in another thread. (I think its hito's thread) Is it more worth it cmopared to the cube 15x?
