any songs with easy lead parts?

aiya bro, just play lah, haha...any song u want(dun be too ridiculous, eg. try some michael angelo stuff right from the start), something from Guns N Roses is very good to start with and boosts your morale a lot, and helps u realise that u are limiting yourself! hehe...i know cos i just decided 1 day more than a year ago, to "HECK LAH! Im just gonna learn sweet child o mine by ear!!"(i was, and still am, tab illeterate  ) since then all the covers i did have been by ear. Yup...im no pro either, n if ur mind is smart enough to process tabs, then do take advantage of that invention! :D

after that try MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB.hahahahahahahha

wow... you must be a very good guitarist, can say MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB is easy. One of my fav song from Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Knowing some basic theory like your scales and chords would help you to play by ear, guns n roses - knocking on heaven's door should be easy to start off with

hey guys, was toying around with an axe juz now n i think i somehow trnascribed the 1st solo in sweet child o mine!!!

it really boosted my morale man...HAHAHA...

haha, good! make sure there is no compromise, as in it sounds exactly the same as in recording, when its so, u are on the right track! now try 2nd solo n the final one, dun worry, i did it over a year ago, so can u! :)

michealangelo:haha, thx dude...i didnt really wanna do it..was uz tying around n i sorta nailed it...b4 tt not motivated enough to do so..hehe...

itachi:yeah i agree..but i've seen the tab 4 tt whole song so if i try to transcribe it it'll be kinda cheating?

haha..i really feel that theres no cheating or what's so ever in playing guitar...theres sooooo many way to learn a song...even if u have seen the whole song tab b4...it might be truly accurate...so maybe u can try to modify it till u find its totally correct while playing....

BinforChrist .... try something popish for a start? Like stuff you can find from the radio? Sheryl Crow? Michelle Branch? Robbie Williams? Anything at all .... dun underestimate these stuff .. might sound simple but can be quite complicated.

For me ... i started out with Guns and ROses .... Knocking on heavens door ... Sweet child O mind .... Civil war ... etc. Thats like years back ....

To learn solos you got to be disciplined ... find some day in the week ... cancel all your appointments ... sit down and listen over and over again untill you get it. THe more songs you figure out ... the more vocabulary you will gather. Most importantly ... have fun. :)

Iron Maiden-

FeaRR..
Of...
The ..
Darkkkkkk...

Intro part and verse....
The chorus lead solo part is more hard to grasp but challenging...
