Pardon my ignorance but, I got a 30% discount from swee lee when I bought my iBanez electric-acoustic guitar last week.

Was that just part of their usual marketing style? Because a couple of months ago my friend and I too got a discount when we bought our warwick rockbags.

The following is purely my assumption, no harm intent: do they always overstate the price to give x% discounts to entice customers into buying?
Because there were no news of sales from them.

I too, on a normal day, randomly got 25% off their boom stand and 30% off their Remo skins.

Discounts in sweelee are normal,i bought a capo from them and they gave me an 15% discount for no reason..and the same happened to my fren who bought from them a guitar stand..i'm sure that the discount only applies to capos,bags,stands,pedals and such but not to picks and strings.I asked them about the cost of the ibanez SM-7 and the salesman said that he would give me a 15% discount.

Swee Lee does have quite a number of discounts, but there's more discounts at the Sims Drive outlet. The Bras Basah outlet, during the great sale, was only 30% off, but the guitar I bought was still quite a lot cheaper than the standard retail price. 30% is 30% after all!
