GUys this is urgent....ANY of you experties or even knows what shop that can retrieve data from a spoilt(connect to computer but computer never detect) hard disk drive(the fat one)..

PLS GUYS I really don care of buying a new hard disk but I WAN ALL Files[ MY PHOTOS and VIDEOS ] back!!

Ive go to sim lim but no luck...PLS HELP ME THANKZ>>...

hmm, you need to reformat it i think. Then use a file digger to dig the pre-formated files, but recovery rate is very slim. And you have to pay in order to get these softwares.

If its the hard disk tts spoilt, there are some firms in the us that do data recovery. But costs alot. They actually open up the hard disk in a clean room to extract the data. If its a controller problem i think it costs in the hundreds, and if it required them to open the thing, then it will cost into the thousands, so unless ur data is very critical, not really worth it...

if your hard disk makes click sounds or make weird noise or doesn't even power up. I hereby pronounce your harddisk F**KED

I concur,

thsi happened to me when my flatmate dropped my external hard drive on the floor... the "click-click" sound is a sign that HD is dying...

I managed to salvage some data though as I have been trying for hours to plug it to the computer. it worked for a few minutes each time (that alloed to transfer important files)

I'd suggest you get an external case for your HD and try to plug it to another computer using usb connection. maybe windows will manage to recognize your HD for a bit...

If cannot detect and connect the HDD, how to recover the data raw from harddisk ?

I suppose only those guys in the repair shop with support agreements with the harddisk manufacturer or the harddisk firm's support will have instruments who can connect directly to the harddisk raw and retrieve back the data ?

lanlan suck thumb. that meas your hard disk is quite dead.

most of them in the "shops" don't. you have to go to the service centres or data recovery companies with vacuum hard disk labs.

i tried this..and it did work...
take a zip lock bag...plug out your hard disk..and put it in the zip log bag..and put them in your freezer for like 2 days..take it out...i think it might work for 10 mins or so..just repeat the process till it dies out entirelly...

hey. isn't that the method used to extract locked data as well? i forgot how it works exactly but by freezing a hard drive computer experts can "freeze" the data as it is which means that they can by pass security/encryption.

That is not a myth. Some professional recovery methods involve a type of freezing (albeit very expensive), but if I talk more it's violation of proprietary trade secrets  Even if I did the average computer user wouldn't have the resources to undertake the task.

The idea behind freezing is to contract the metal components - particulary some resistors, capacitors, and also in this case the platter (to some extent). Remember that hard disks are electrical devices; they produce heat. When there is heat, there is expansion. Due to this, the metal components get bigger and end up "out of place" at some point. The platter may lose its ability to scan/sweep/brush precisely. After years of service, hard disks are the ones most likely to fail faster thanks partly to this. Freezing is the common man's last resort, no doubt. Moreover, only 30% of hard disks tend to "revive" for a little while

If you still haven't managed to salvage something to this day, you can send the disk to me and I'll see what can be done. No promises, though.

There are two possible reason for your hard disk

one reason that machine is not detecting your hard disk is that your data bus has some problem, you can try again by doing unplug and then plug them.

The second problem can be that your hard disk has be corrupted.
If this is the case then your need to use Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery free demo.

If this software is successful to to show all your files then your need to purchase it to recover all your data.

This software are self booable cd, so if your OP is not working then it is also efficient to recover all your data.

If you find that this software is not able to detect your hard disk, than you should consider that there is other problem rather hard disk crash.
